Fernando Belfiore

[ 1983 in Sao Paolo, Brazil ] is a choreographer and performer based in Amsterdam. He graduated at the SNDO (School for New Dance Development – AHK). Before moving to Europe he studied Theater at Sao Paolo University. He performed in projects by Florentina Holzinger, Deborah Hay, Jeremy Wade, Ann Liv Young and Ibrahim Quraishi. He presented his works in festival and venues in many countries of Europe and Brazil.

Jefta van Dinther & Thiago Granato present This is Concrete at Panoramafestival Rio de Janeiro 7/8 th of November.

This is concrete is a performance about two male bodies involved with each other testing their limits. Entangled in shadows, stunning sounds and beats; they live a dazzling sexual experience. Talking becomes eating, dancing and sex becomes symbiose becomes parasitism.

This is Concrete is a coproduction of Festival Panorama with the support of Central de Cultura. The performance is also shown in Sao Paolo.

The Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Kingdom of the Netherlands announces that, until 19 October 2012, it will be accepting applications for financial support of the Ministry of External Relations to initiatives aimed at fostering the Brazilian culture in the Netherlands, in 2013, particularly in the fields of music, visual arts, performing arts and literature.

The dancers of Nederlands Dans Theater are well known for their great class and virtuosity. They are at the top of their dance career and know as no other how to get the company's repertoire across to the audience. Together with the famous resident choreographers Paul Lightfoot and Sol León, various guest choreographers (like Kylián, Pite, Inger, Naharin) and artists from other disciplines, the dancers create six new ballets per season.

Capoeira Workshop in Amsterdam

Claudio Lemos will show  Capoeira at the public Library. Capoeira is a practice which mix dance, music with fighting skills, and is strongly related to the Brazilian colonial history. Nowadays, is practiced all over Brazil, but also abroad. Part of the ‘Maand van de Gezondheid’ agenda,  the workshop will be held at the Bibliotheek Bos en Lommer and Bibliotheek Mercatorplein, on the 16th of May.
