Nanine Linning
Nanine Linning (1977, born in Amsterdam) is regarded as one of the most successful Dutch choreographers around today. She likes to stray from the well-trodden theatrical paths. In her work, dance seamlessly merges with design, video, music and visual arts. Her work is strongly multidisciplinary. Her choreographies are extremely physical, dealing with basic human instincts, desires and emotions. She puts a spotlight on ‘La condition humaine’ with her dancers and collaborating artist. Survival mechanisms and human interactions are given shape and form in a dynamic world where man is presented in all his insignificant and glory. Nanine Linning's performances are distinguished by her unusual choice of presentation forms, the locations and the theatrical events she presents alongside her performances to give meaningful context to her work.
