Hilton Barcelos
Hilton Barcelos, composer, Brazilian poet, interpreter, reveals himself as an instigator musician and modern arranger. He focuses in the social, spiritual and human passions through his lyrics and the aesthetic musical comedy. The intuition leads his workmanship. His influences go from Soul Music to Progressive Rock, Oriental rhythms, Bossa Nova, Jazz and Brazilian Popular Music. With great versatility, Hilton works with art integration, without fads. Although not labeling his music, he walks throughout the regional, national and universal influences. His eclecticism in his way of composing and the fusion of different trends transforms his work into music with no borders.
He initiated its career participating in music festivals, taking several music courses, such as vocal techniques, show direction, music therapy, aesthetics and composition, conducting and orchestra participation among others. He made several individual concerts and their partners in subsequent years.
In 1982, he launched the album “Confissões de um Retrato Falado (Confessions of a Composite Drawing)”; he meets Hans-Joachim Koellreutter. He participated in the “Pixinguinha Project” in 1985/86, with performances in Rio de Janeiro and northeast of Brazil, together with Luiz Melodia, Carlos Lyra, Sandra de Sá, Andréa Daltro, Rosa Maria and Tambores Urbanos. In 1988, he had a composition performed by the “Symphonic Orchestra and Choir of Paraná”.
In 1990, he launched the album “Arquétipos (Archetypes)” displaying a modern sonority and timeless. In 1997, he publishes “Nas Águas do Verbo (Through the Waters of Verb)”, a book of visual poetry, lyrics and monologues. The disk “Olhos de Luz (Eyes of Light)” is the musical launching of the year 1998 and counts with the participation of great musicians. In 1999, did the art direction and production of the poetry book “Palavras de Fogo (Words of Fire)”, of Lyra Barcelos.
In 2000 their partnership “Ginga sem Fronteira (Ginga without border)” with Airto Moreira is recorded to disk “Homeless”, by Airto. In 2001, gives a new interpretation on the album “Arquétipos”, adding new songs and internationally acclaimed musicians; interacting with the tracks, the richly illustrated book includes a single work. In 2003, he idealized and produced the specials “Arquétipos - Hilton Barcelos” and “Airto Moreira”, presented in the Brazilian Public TV.
In 2006, he launched “Music Made in Paraná”, a songbook with one hundred scores, lyrics and biographies of more than 60 composers. In 2007, he concept, script and show direct of launching that songbook; in the same year, he launched the songbook “Além das Pérolas (Beyond Pearls)”, organized by Alessandra Angelo, with scores, poetry and photos. In 2008, he participated of the documentary recording “Música Subterrânea (Subway Music)”, by “Olho Vivo Project”; he released your work in some places of Spain and Portugal. Back in Brazil, he launches the songbook “Nas Trilhas do Tempo (In the Paths of Time)” in 2009, contain scores, poetry and lyrics by herself and partnerships; he returns to Europe (Madrid, Barcelona and Amsterdam) for artistic release and initiate new projects. In 2010 released the compilation “In the Paths of Time” by Bloodsugar Records, a German company; in 2011, its theme "Vivendo Aprendi" in partnership with Romano Nunes Cabelo, is released on cd "Minhas Influências", by Romano Nunes Cabelo; his song "Hombre Niño" in partnership with Carlito Ayala is written and displayed in shows in Paraguay and other countries in Latin America; continues preparing some themes for recording, composing and preparing for a new tour in 2012 and his own multimedia projects as "Gratitude" and "Primavera em Criação Contínua".
