Merlijn Twaalfhoven

Composer Merlijn Twaalfhoven is most known by the remarkable projects he creates, connecting styles, cultures but first of all people. Twaalfhovens intention is to bridge worlds of contrast, and to mix unusual elements to a new unity. Classic and modern, western and oriental, groovy and subtle music is combined into a lively metaphor for nowadays world. With the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, he created his “Symphony for All”, a composition that includes 150 children, non-professional players and even the audience.

Michel van der Aa

Michel van der Aa (Netherlands, 1970) is one of Europe’s most sought-after composers today.

Flo Menezes

Flo Menezes is one of the most important electro-acoustic composers in Brazil, a recipient of Prix Ars Electronica and a student of Stockhausen. He also founded Studio PANaroma (Electroacoustic Music studio) in July 1994, originally as a cooperation between the State University of São Paulo (Unesp) and the private faculty FASM. After the end of this cooperation in June 2001 the Studio PANaroma became an autonomous institute of Unesp.

Gilberto Gil

Gilberto Gil carries out a fundamental role in the constant modernization process of Brazilian popular music. Partaking of this scene for 46 years, he has developed one of the most relevant and renown careers as a singer, composer and guitar-player in this field. Gil has had his albums released abroad since 1978, the year of his successful performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival, in Switzerland, recorded live. Every year he tours Europe, North America, Latin America and Japan with his contagious pop music spoken in portuguese-brazilian and international language.
